Victims of Terrorism

Sprenger + Lang prosecutes cases on behalf of victims of terrorist acts perpetrated by individuals and foreign governments. These cases may be brought under several federal laws, including the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, the Anti-Terrorism Act, and the Alien Tort Act. The purpose of these laws is to deter terrorism and to compensate victims for the egregious abuse of their human rights. Claims include murder, false imprisonment, torture and other physical injuries, and loss of consortium for victim's spouses. The lawsuits seek compensation for physical harm, economic losses and emotional harm, including post-traumatic stress syndrome.
