He has substantial knowledge in the area of federal appellate practice as well as trial experience. Before joining the firm, Doug served as a law clerk for Honorable Judges Gerald W. Heaney and Donald P. Lay of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Doug also previously worked as an attorney for the Defender Association, the largest public defense agency in Seattle, Washington. His responsibilities at Sprenger + Lang include C.H. Robinson, 3M, Romero v. Allstate Insurance Co. (Romero I) and TV Writers' Cases. In 2008, Doug was selected as a “Rising Star” by Minnesota Law & Politics. Doug is a 1995 political science graduate of the University of St. Thomas, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1999. Doug was active in the Minnesota Justice Foundation and the Gender Issues Steering Committee while in law school and represented clients as a student attorney for the Neighborhood Justice Center and Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners legal clinic, as well as serving as Student Director of the clinic. |
