AttorneysMara Thompson"Employment law is fascinating. The issues are real, personal and identifiable. I really enjoy my work administering class action settlements. Of course, our clients are happy and I can see the positive impact our case has had on their lives. That wouldn't have happened had our initial plaintiffs not stepped forward and had Sprenger + Lang not taken the risks involved in this type of litigation. Sprenger + Lang offers clients a level of commitment to their cases that other firms do not. When the going gets tough, Sprenger + Lang does not bail out. One or two, even three, bad decisions will not result in Sprenger + Lang stepping away from a case. We work at a case until we get a positive result for our clients." Mara R. Thompson is a partner at Sprenger + Lang and works in the Minneapolis office. She received her J.D. degree cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1988. Since joining Sprenger + Lang in 1994, she has developed a specialty in class action settlement administration, including the entire process of getting court approval, distributing funds, and monitoring corporations' compliance with extensive and complicated consent decrees. She is currently working on 3M and Morgan Stanley and monitoring settlements in American Express, CBS, FMC, C.H. Robinson and two cases against National Railroad Passenger Corp., Thornton and McLaurin. Besides investigating potential cases for the firm, Mara has been involved in the prosecution of numerous class action and multi-plaintiff employment discrimination cases against defendants such as American Express, CBS, FMC, First Union, Northwest Airlines, Control Data Corporation, NightRider and Ford Motor Co.. Prior to Sprenger + Lang, Mara was an attorney with the law firms of Harstad & Rainbow and Gray, Plant, Mooty, Mooty & Bennett, both in Minneapolis, Minnesota. |
