Michael Lieder

"The skill sets crucial to successful prosecution of complex multi-plaintiff cases are different than those important to individual cases. Sprenger + Lang has these skill sets in abundance. We also have the financial resources, technology and personnel to prosecute class action lawsuits successfully. Our track record speaks for itself."

Michael Lieder received his B.A. from Haverford College in 1977 and graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1984, where he was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. After graduation, he was an associate for six years in Madison, Wisconsin in the law firm of Foley & Lardner, and served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Toledo College of Law in 1990-91. Mike is a member partner working in the Washington, D.C. office, and has been with Sprenger + Lang since 1991. Mike was lead attorney in First Union, a case that broke new ground in employee benefit ERISA litigation. Current cases include Allstate, New York Life, 3M, and TV Writers' Cases.

Mr. Lieder co-authored a book, Wild Justice: The People of Geronimo vs. the United States, published by Random House in 1997. He also has written numerous articles published in law reviews and journals such as the Washington Law Review, the Wake Forest Law Review, and the American Indian Law Review concerning issues in constitutional law, contract law, Indian law, and employment discrimination law.

In January/February 2007, Michael D. Lieder was recognized by Lawdragon magazine as one of the "500 Leading Plaintiffs' Lawyers in America."
