AttorneysThomas J. Henderson“I entered the practice of law to serve those working to eliminate discrimination from our society. My experience, energy and commitment are focused on class action civil rights litigation on behalf of those facing entrenched discrimination who seek justice and greater opportunity. That is why I joined Sprenger & Lang -- that’s what we do here, and do very well.” Tom is a partner at Sprenger & Lang, and works out of its D.C. office. Prior to joining the firm, Tom litigated groundbreaking class actions in the areas of housing and employment discrimination, environmental justice, education and voting rights, most recently as Chief Counsel of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Tom has represented both local community groups and national organizations, and Tom litigated almost all of these cases in co-counsel relationships with local lawyers across the country. Tom also has supervised a national docket of civil rights cases, practiced extensively before the U.S. Supreme Court and advocated for policy and legislation before federal agencies and Congress. A frequent speaker and writer, Tom has advocated for civil rights class actions in testimony to both Houses of Congress and in analysis and comments to the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules.
