Eden Brown Gaines
Ms. Brown Gaines is the managing partner of the firm ’s Government & Commercial practice. She represents the firm’s business clients in government procurement; commercial contract negotiation; employment, government and commercial litigation; labor relations; and provides corporate consulting.
Ms. Brown Gaines supports business clients in diverse industries, including Information Technology, program management, retail, education and grant-making. She has represented clients in government procurements with the Department of Treasury, and the Department of Defense, and assisted the Department of Transportation in procurements.
Ms. Brown Gaines is a seasoned litigator and has a wealth of trial and appellate experience representing businesses, managers and employees. She has successfully resolved government procurement disputes and obtained favorable verdicts in contract litigation. She secured a significant victory for the Federal Aviation Administration in a full merits age and gender discrimination class action administrative trial (Powers, et. al. v. Department of Transportation). She garnered victories for employees, including a class action gender discrimination case against CH Robinson. She is a frequent lecturer on EEO and Human Resource issues and government procurement.
Ms. Brown Gaines earned her B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1995 and her J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law in 1998. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. Ms. Brown Gaines is proficient in Spanish.
